CHRIS HULL
Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS, CCTP
Dr. Chris Hull is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arkansas and has held licensure as a professional counselor in the United States (US) since 2003. He is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Chris received a BA in Exercise Science from Dordt College (IA), a MA in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary (FL), and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University (VA). Since 1995 Chris has worked in the health and wellness industry in Canada and the US, providing services in hospital rehabilitation clinics, community sports centers, private counseling practices, outpatient addiction and eating disorder recovery programs, church-affiliated counseling centers, and university counseling clinics. Dr. Hull is currently a full Professor of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University (VA) and has held full-time counseling faculty/administrative positions at John Brown University (AR), Denver Seminary (CO), Grace College (IN), and Argosy University (FL). Dr. Hull has specialized clinical training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2), Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment, and treating addictions (including sexual addiction). Dr. Hull’s personal story of childhood burn trauma/recovery allows him to connect well with people impacted by trauma/abuse in their past. Chris has found success working with clients dealing with post-traumatic stress, addictions, co-dependency and relational issues, anxiety and depression, sexual and intimacy issues, identity and career development, spiritual and religious abuse, and professional/leadership performance issues. He is also available to speak/teach on emotionally healthy masculinity, church hurt and spiritual abuse, adult attachment, marital/relational satisfaction, spiritual formation/development, and trauma recovery.
Chris was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is an avid sports fan (soccer and hockey in particular). He is married to Carolyn (also a counselor) and they have three children together (Maddie, Chace, and Taylor). When not teaching, supervising, or counseling, Chris enjoys running, gardening, hiking, skiing, reading, fishing, drinking coffee, and most of all, spending time with his family.
